Budget Update from ITVS
Last week, the Administration released its proposed federal budget for FY 2018 which would eliminate funding for the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, a core funder of ITVS.
As the Legislative branch’s budget process unfolds over the next few months, ITVS, alongside other organizations, will continue to underscore the importance of federal funds for our nation’s public media system and the value of independently produced programming on our public airwaves.
ITVS serves and supports the mission of public broadcasting. Public funding is part of the public-private partnership that ensures a sustainable ecosystem where diverse voices can be heard. Every federal dollar ITVS invests in independent film production leverages three in non-public funds. We are committed to delivering high-quality programming across the country to the American public.
